Basilda Takeaway is a qualified Food Hygiene and Safety for Caterers service that was founded in 2019. I've always wanted to introduce African-Congolese dishes to other ethnic minority people who haven't had this experience. I wanted to build a legacy for my parents as a remembrance of their existence and love for me and my siblings.

My story is one that may sound shameful but I will own it anyways. When growing up, I wasn't taught how to cook with love. I only knew how to cook two common Congolese dishes as a young female, which wasn't so great. I lost my confidence along the way because I wasn't shown how to cook properly, not even talk about other dishes. So I was scared to cook for people and questioned my ability of feeding myself my children and a husband healthy cooked food. One day, I started learning and I became so good and my husband taught me a lot of the dishes. As time went by, anyone who tried my food, they always said you should open up your own restaurant and so that's why I bring to you Basilda Takeaway, food prepared with love.
